PETALING STREET (CHINATOWN) MA ZHI Tuesday, June 10, 2008
I have came across a stall down in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown (Petaling Street) selling a different version. Madam Tang has been selling these yummy desserts for years there. The Ma Zhi comes in different colors and flavors. You can have it original (RM3.50/box) or you can have the mix flavors (RM5/box). The flavors available are apple, banana, grape, kiwi, lemon, lychee, mango, orange, pineapple, ribena, strawberry, black glutinous rice, or pandan. With so many flavors available, it is up to your luck to taste what are the mixed flavors.

And don't be surprised that both husband and wife have interesting tattoos on their arms and ...

Taiwanese Iced Sweet Bean Soup Saturday, August 04, 2007
This is an interesting bean dessert served with ice. It has a combination of different type of peas and beans, with jelly and sago. After a hot day of walking, this is really enjoyable. You can commonly find this type of dessert at most food areas. They sometimes serve it in disposable plastic cups and give you a giant straw to suck all the ingredients up!

People here seem to love desserts and you will find shops like these specialising in desserts and fresh juices. For a certain amount, you can choose a variety of ingredients, which they will top up with shaved ice and different syrups. You can also have freshly cut fruits with different flavoured toppings.
